The Ardèche you don't know yet.
Greener, quieter — and ideal for group stays.
This guide helps you explore the beautiful Ardèche Hermitage. Distances from La Grange de la Chouette, our renovated farmhouse near Saint-Félicien, designed for groups.
The Region
The Ardèche Hermitage covers the northern part of the department, between the Rhône Valley and the first Ardèche foothills.
Here, vineyards face the river, the Doux gorges carve through granite, and villages thrive year-round. This is a greener, gentler, less touristy Ardèche — but just as spectacular.
Open and varied landscapes, from river to plateaus. Simple, accessible activities without long drives. A real local life, made of markets, terraces and spontaneous encounters.
In the Ardèche Hermitage, everyone can follow their own tempo — and easily meet up again.

Cool Off
The Doux, the Ay, the Rhône.
Four ways to experience the region, in detail — from the Rhône to the hills, from trails to vineyards.
The Ardèche Hermitage is naturally suited to cycling. The Rhône offers flat, accessible routes, ideal for families or e-bikes.
The hills open up hillier routes, perfect for gravel or road enthusiasts. Little traffic, beautiful scenery — and always a terrace at the finish.
Cycling
No need to be a big hiker. Here, trails are varied and often close to the house.
Forest walks, viewpoints, gorges, perched villages — everyone can find a hike to suit them.
Hiking
We're in the heart of the great appellations of the northern Rhône Valley. Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph: world-renowned wines, but often family estates.
Tastings are generally free (purchases appreciated, never obligatory).
